Family support
Family support introduction
Dear Parents and Carers,
My name is Katarzyna Zurawska, ‘Kasia’ for short, and I am the new Family Support Worker at Lindon Bennett School.
As a considerable number of you already know, I started my new role in September. However, I am not sure that all of you are aware that I am now the person helping families at the School, or if you realise precisely how I can help you. This is why I am introducing myself.
As your Family Support Worker, I am here to provide you with support, advice and information, and to ensure good communication between you, the School and agencies. My role is to help you in matters ranging from health and education to benefits or simply to be here for you if you need to talk to someone.
Since September, despite the restrictions brought on by Covid, I have already managed to organise Coffee Mornings and OT focus sessions for you, and I have arranged dental screening across the School. I have also met some of you one-to-one and tried to provide you with advice on toileting and sleeping.
It is my sincere hope that when the Covid restrictions are lifted, I will be able to organise a wider range of workshops for you. Before the end of this school year, I aim for these to include workshops on toileting, sleeping, communication and intensive interaction. I also plan to invite a representative from the Blue Badge Department and from Social Services to one of our Coffee Mornings.
Finally, I am delighted to let you know that our Drop-in sessions will be resuming as well on both sides of the School:
- Wednesdays at Danesbury Rd
- Thursdays at Main Street
In the meantime, if there is anything that you are ever worried about or if you would like to discuss your child’s wellbeing with me or simply come in for a chat, please remember that I am here for you and my door is always open.
My contact details are:
phone: 020 8898 0479, please ask for Kasia.
I look forward to meeting with you all soon.
Yours sincerely,
Katarzyna Zurawska
