Grasshoppers Class Summer ‘24
Summer term has been extremely busy for Grasshoppers. The topic for this half of the term was water and animals. We explored a range of different toys, including some that float and sink and sea animals that you would find under the sea. The children are enjoying our activities for summer, exploring water, pirates and seaside activities. We have been reading the story ’10 Little Pirates’ practicing numbers and learning about quantity. The children have enjoyed being outside exploring lots of water and sand activities, construction toys and toys that move including balls, cars and bikes.
Grasshoppers’ class have participated in different festivals and special events, we celebrated Father’s Day and we enjoyed an ‘animal disco’ where the children wore some fantastic costumes. They enjoyed having their parents visit us for the Father’s Day stay and play to take part in lots of creative activities.
Children have worked hard this term to sit for longer and develop attention during learning tasks. They are responding well to communications with familiar adults and are starting to become more independent when trying new activities. As a special treat, Grasshoppers’ class went to TVAP in Taplow for a day trip and had lots of fun together.
We loved having the farm to come and visit and have really enjoyed exploring the sounds that animals make. The children petted the animals and helped to feed them.
We are looking forward to Sport’s Day and our Carnival celebrations and we can’t wait to take part! It will be a great opportunity for our small children to show their big progress that they made this year.
Please continue to share your child’s achievements at home with us by writing on the ‘At home I did something great’ slips, as these get added to their learning journals. Also, do let us know if you have any questions, we will communicate with you at the end of each school day.
It was a pleasure to have those fantastic young children in Grasshoppers class. Thank you for your support. We all look forward to seeing the children at our Main Street site from September.
Have a fantastic summer break!
