Lindon Bennett School

Koalas

Koalas Class have had a great Spring term at school. Our topics this term have been ‘Countries around the world’ and ‘Materials’. During our lessons we have been very creative, exploring different art from around the world and then creating our own. We particularly liked designing our own aboriginal artwork from Australia.  We also enjoyed tasting different food from around the world. Pão de Queijo (Brazilian cheese balls) were our favourite.

During our materials topic we looked at different materials and what they are used for. We read the story ‘Don’t throw that away’. It is about how you can turn recycled items into new things. We took inspiration from this story and made our bird feeders out of old milk bottles. The children really enjoyed this and then hanging them out in our garden. We are looking forward to seeing the birds visit our garden.

In the Summer term our new topic will be Leisure and Sport. We are looking forward to trying out lots of different sports during the summer and visiting our wider community trying out different leisure activities.
