Peacocks

Our topic in Peacocks class this first half term was Materials. We enjoyed learning about different materials, such as fabric, metal, wood, as well as their properties and descriptive words: hard, soft, flexible and rigid. We decorated and constructed our own house structures with different tools as well as our own airplanes, which we then flew in the playground.

We explored this topic in our art lessons using different materials and textures to create prints, mother’s day cards as well as rubbings of different surfaces. During our cooking lessons we explored materials in their different states, making our own class playdough as well as oat bars.

Next term we are looking forward to spending more time outdoors with the nicer weather. Including our trip to Bocketts Farm and weekly visits to the allotment.
