Spiders

Spider’s class

This term Spider’s class have been learning about water and animals. We have had lots of fun investigating with different materials. We have enjoyed reading the ‘Rainbow Fish’ and have had lots of opportunities for sensory experiences.

We loved having the farm to come and visit and have really enjoyed exploring the outside looking for mini beasts and investigating hot, cold, and frozen water.

The children are enjoying our Summer 2 topic, ‘Exploring water, Pirates and The Seaside’. We have started the topic by reading the story ‘Pirates love Underpants’ and by investigating things that float and sink and the sea creatures you would find under the sea. The children have enjoyed being outside which has included lots of water and sand exploration. We are very excited for our ‘Day by the River’ where we will create a ‘river’ for the children to splash around in, build bridges and will sit and have a picnic together.

The children have continued to develop forming friendships, early mark-making skills and have created many pieces of artwork linked to their learning using a variety of creative tools and materials. They’ve made beautiful pieces of art to contribute towards our ‘Rainbow Fish’ and ‘On the Farm’’ display. We have also really enjoyed our special Father’s Day celebration stay and play session.

We have some very fun events planned including Sports Day and Carnival celebrations and we can’t wait to take part!

Please remember to keep writing in the Home/Communication Book as we really enjoy hearing all about what your children get up to at home. Please also ensure your child has spare clothes in school, as this term will be full of water play and messy fun!

Thanks so much,

Tracy, Heather, Kayla and Ashleigh.
